Akbar's Tomb at Sikandra
Akbar who ruled over the Mughal Empire from 1556 to 1605, began building his mausoleum in the spartan style of Timurid architecture. The tomb of Emperor Akbar presents a perfect blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture. Its construction got completed in 1613 A.D. by his son, the next Mughal Emperor, Jahangir and has been retained in its best possible form. It is also open for the tourists from dawn to dusk. |

Tomb of Itmad-ud-daulah
One of the lesser-known monuments of Agra, the tomb of Itimad ud Daulah is sometimes called the 'Baby Taj' because of its resemblance to Agra's most famous monument. This marble tomb was built during 1622-1628 A.D. by Noorjahan in the memory of her father Mirza Ghiyas Beg. It is also an epitome of 'Pietra Dura' - the inlay work on marble following the lines of the Taj Mahal, open for the tourists. |

Mariyam's Tomb

Jama Masjid in Agra
The mosque at Sikri was the first structure to be built in 1571. The spacious courtyard adds a stately charm to the place. It could accommodate ten thousand men at prayer. A perfect epitome of Iranian architecture. Buland Darwaza
The Darwza rises to a height of 40 metres and is topped by pillars and chhatris. It is the most Islamic structure in Fatehpur Sikri. It is built of red sandstone and inlaying of white marble. It is known as the "Gate of Magnificence". It was built by Akbar in 1602 to commemorate his conquest of Gujarat. |
